Drop-din-mentale-snooze-knap

The fear of failing lowers your ambitions. Paradoxically, that also comes with an upside — you reach the goal more easily. The solution: drop your mental snooze button. Here’s how it works.

Think back to the time you pushed past a limit. Your heart pounded and your pulse rose, but afterwards you thought: “Was that all?” The challenge is rarely that we set goals too high and overshoot — it’s that we set them too low and hit the bullseye. If you dedicate the right amount of time and focus, you’ll reach the goal more easily and faster than you first thought.

The problem is that most people spend huge amounts of energy on starting, because they keep stopping. It’s like hitting the snooze button in the morning. The more times you hit it, the more times your body has to spend energy waking up — and the less energy you have left in the end.

SO: drop the mental snooze button, and accept that doubt and fear are feelings that are part of life. It’ll get you to the goal faster and more easily than you expected.
