Dive below the surface
How to dive beneath the surface and handle conflict. Dodging it only makes it worse.
Togetherness at work is a shared understanding of what creates wellbeing and good collaboration. An entertaining talk for new and established teams alike.
If you had to choose between two teams — one with strong togetherness and one with weak — the answer is obvious. For colleagues who experience weak togetherness, it feels like running a one-person business in a shared office. Sooner or later they look elsewhere. The best leave first, and that costs the company dearly. And yet all the research points the same way: togetherness lifts the team’s results — so what do you do?
Being able to work as an effective team is the biggest untapped potential in any organisation. So why do we still pour so many resources into optimising finance, strategy, technology and marketing? Because collaboration is hard. It is hard to measure and hard to do. It can’t be bought, rented or borrowed — it takes your own effort. That makes it tempting to simply look the other way — unless you know how much more you can achieve as a team.
As a speaker, Martin combines humour, evidence-based research on togetherness and experience from 3,000+ teams. The talk is tailored to you and your everyday life, so you can use the tools first thing Monday morning.
A shared understanding of what strengthens togetherness.
And hands-on tools to keep it alive in everyday life.
So you get even more out of your differences.
Collaboration can’t be bought, rented or borrowed — you create it yourselves, together

That you start to understand each other before you misunderstand each other. Research on togetherness and cross-team collaboration shows that around 41% of employees find it harder to work across departments than within their own. Most of the friction isn’t about disagreement, but about different language and different yardsticks. The talk gives you the shared picture that closes that gap.
They have more in common than you think. When departments disagree, it’s usually because they believe their goals can’t be reconciled — but they usually can. When the common ground becomes visible, a large part of the friction disappears on its own. That’s one of the important purposes of the talk.
That the complexity isn’t evenly spread. Research shows that 20–35% of the value-creating collaboration in an organisation is delivered by just 3–5% of employees — because the others don’t know who to turn to, or where to find the answer. In other words, there’s a lot to gain.
Martin gives talks across Denmark and abroad. The talk lasts up to an hour.
